In this article, William Lacy Swing and Kathryne Bomberger, representing the IOM and the ICMP respectively, describe the phenomenon of migrants going missing on migratory routes worlwide. They then explain the IOM and the ICMP's projects and technologies that attempt to address this issue, particularly through a joint comprehensive assessment of the missing migrant and refugee situation in the Mediterranean region.
