Recommendation No. R (99) 3 of the Committee of Ministers to Member States on the harmonisation of medico-legal autopsy rules

This text specifies when and how autopsies should be carried out. It calls on states to set up a control mechanism at national level in order to ensure the proper performance of medico-legal autopsies, and to include both internal and external control of forensic laboratories in quality assurance programmes.
