This third webinar in a series organized by the ICRC Missing Persons Project focused on advocacy and influencing. Wadad Halawani, from the Committee of Families of Kidnapped and Disappeared (CFKD) in Lebanon, Sevgul Uludag, Together We Can bi-communal family association in Cyprus and Sandra Peake from the Wave Trauma Center in Northern Ireland shared their powerful experiences of advocacy and collective actions by families of missing persons. Their work changed the way the issue of missing persons was perceived or supported in their contexts. Their accounts clearly showed how families often can be catalysts of change and influence public policies and legal frameworks.
