This document is the product of a long process of exchange, analysis and reflection on the importance and relevance of psychosocial work in cases of enforced disappearances, arbitrary or extrajudicial executions, and in forensic investigations of serious human rights violations. This process included the organization of the first World Congress on Psychosocial Work in Exhumation Processes, Enforced Disappearance, Justice and Truth which was held in Antigua, Guatemala in 2007. As a result, a document was produced and presented for international validation with victims, families and accompanying organizations in different parts of the world. The objective was to assess whether it was possible to apply these standards and recommendations worldwide, as well as to make the necessary adjustments according to the specificities of each national context.
