The ICRC Central Tracing Agency is pleased to invite you to its upcoming Webinar: “National Mechanisms for Missing Persons: What have we learnt?”
On Monday 21st November 2022, at 16:00 GVA time, together with representatives of Mechanisms from around the world we will showcase good practices and discuss how mechanisms for the search for missing persons concretely work in different contexts.
The webinar will be the occasion to launch the ICRC new publication: National Mechanisms for Missing Persons: A Toolkit. Drawing on decades of experience in Peru, Mexico, Lebanon and Bosnia-Herzegovina, we will be focusing on the different mandates that mechanisms can have, the role and needs of families of missing persons, and the importance of building and sustaining political will. Together we will explore how these experiences can inform decisions on the establishment of new mechanisms in more recent contexts.
We encourage you to send your questions in advance at: RCRC_CTA_Centre@icrc.org giving us enough time to prepare, latest by Tuesday 15th November 2022. You can also message us your questions during the webinar, but the questions sent in advance will be addressed with priority.
The webinar will take place on “Zoom”. To join the webinar, please make sure to register in advance here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZItcuCtrT0iGdSeL74OB6TXhc8x7yNBHRbu
