On Tuesday 22 March 2022 from 16:00 to 18:00 GVA time, together with the colleagues from the Forensic Unit of the ICRC Central Tracing Agency, we are pleased to invite you to continue the conversation on Missing Migrants with us by looking at the scientific aspects of the search.
The webinar “Use of Forensic Isotopes in the Search Process: Current Global Research Initiatives” will bring together forensic practitioners from around the world to present on the scientific background, the usefulness of stable isotope analysis within the Search process, practical applications, ongoing regional research, as well as the current challenges and future potential regarding the use of stable isotopes to estimate the region of origin for unidentified individuals within humanitarian contexts.
Through bringing together this panel of experts, this webinar seeks to not only raise awareness of the usefulness of stable isotopic research for forensic purposes, but also seeks to aid in developing a global partnership network in which the local communities will become active collaborators in future global isotopic research initiatives proposed by the ICRC Forensic Unit.
We encourage you to send your questions in advance at: missingpersonsproject@icrc.org giving us enough time to prepare, latest by Monday 21st March. You can also message us your questions during the webinar, but the questions sent in advance will be addressed with priority.
