This report is intended to provide an initial view of some of the issues that migrants and their families are facing and have experienced since the pandemic caused such a global disruption, with the intention of providing some helpful recommendations to states, international agencies and other actors to ensure that those discriminations are preventable. We also call for practical measures to be put in place to overcome some of the many obstacles and barriers faced by bereaved families and to ensure that there is fairness, accountability and justice for migrant families during and after the pandemic as societies begin to rebuild their lives and economies.
