Why do people commit crimes and could society deal with criminals more effectively? Develop your understanding of the causes and consequences of crime on this BSc (Hons) Criminology and Criminal Justice degree. You’ll examine criminology – the study of crime and criminals – and criminal justice – the agencies involved in the justice and penal systems, such as the police, prisons and the probation service. You’ll explore a fascinating variety of approaches to policing, terrorism, hate crime and victimology. You’ll become an expert in the criminal justice system from end to end, from how laws are enforced, to how we deal with the people that break them. Our BSc (Hons) Criminology and Criminal Justice degree is delivered in one of the largest criminology departments in the UK. Our graduates go on to work in youth offending support, investigative data analysis, and community rehabilitation, as well as roles in the police, probation and prison services. You could also have a career in crime prevention, community safety, or criminological research.
